The Renewable Energy Promotion Program (REPP) was a Federal Government initiative, administered by the former Commonwealth Department of Primary Industries and Energy. REPP operated over three years and was designed to promote the use of renewable energy technologies where they are economically viable, with particular emphasis on stand alone power supply systems. For this reason the program targetted those living in rural and remote areas, isolated from the electricity grid.
