Support for our LGBTQIA+ Community

Your team at Rise have completed the Right to Belong program run by GRAI and Richmond Wellbeing. The program supports the development of services that are welcoming and inclusive of LGBTQIA+ individuals, their families and community. Over 12 months the team have been implementing and evaluating changes in our services to ensure we provide a culturally safe environment that improves care and outcomes for clients and staff.

Report: Australian LGBTIQ+ Communities & COVID-19

LGBTIQ+ people will face many of the same COVID-19 issues which impact on all Australians but some will experience more acute impacts because of their LGBTIQ+ status and some will experience unique issues because of their LGBTIQ+ status.
A recent survey from Newgate suggests that LGBTIQ+ people are more likely to have experienced a reduction in income or work hours, or to have been laid off.  They are also more likely to have experienced more mental health issues or tension at home compared to usual.
