This week the members of Peter Anderton Centre are sharing the stories of their families, ANZAC Day and what it means to them.
Roy Doldon who attends on Monday's shared a photo of himself with his brother and dad. Roy’s dad, Horace was called to service in WWII when Roy was just a boy. His mother died when he was 7 years old and during the years his dad was away in France, in the Military Police, the boys went to live with their grandmother.
Cath Masters our Day Centre Cook setup a beautiful display of family photos, relating to Cath’s mother’s side of the family and their involvement in the World Wars. There is documentation and uniforms from her partner John who was also enlisted along with much more, it is clear to see how proud Cath is of her family and what they sacrificed.
We also made some paper poppies, poppy glowing lanterns, played two up and shared stories.
You are all very welcome to come and have a look at our beautiful historical display.
