Today, our Friday ladies group were surprised on arrival to the centre with an amazing high tea created by Cath, they were waited on hand and foot by our staff and Volunteers and made to feel very special.
After morning tea the ladies were surprised yet again with a slide show full of photos of themselves with their grandchildren and some very funny Tik Tok video messages too, at first there were faces of confusion about how I managed to get my hands on the photos, but the confusion soon turned to smiles and the names of the grandchildren being a call out, “That’s my Lily, that’s my Ryan”.  To view a copy of the slideshow click on the link below:

Celebrating Grandmothers Slideshow

After our beautiful slide show dedicated to all of the grandmothers of Peter Anderton, the staff then went on to read out letters from their grandchildren, some letters came as far as Bali and New Zealand, and we learned some interesting facts about how funny, naughty and cheeky some of our dear little grandmothers have been. The tears of joy flowed as we all listened to the beautiful message from the grandchildren aging from 5 to 35.

We then talked about how rewarding it is to be a grandparent, and some gave their own perspective on what it is to be a grandparent.   Our surprise was a success, thanks to the support from all the families involved.

It was a very special morning at Peter Anderton, the room was filled with love and joy.
