Last week the Arts Hub celebrated Christmas in July a little differently. Staff dressed up as flight attendants and boarded our members on a simulated flight to Italy.
Once there we were greeted by our Italian Tour Guide, Maria Lombardo, who has Italian heritage. Maria loves to perform and did a great job of welcoming everyone to Italy. From there we were entertained by the Italian Christmas Choir, who have been rehearsing songs over the last few weeks. 'Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey' came and danced for us all. This role was played by Robbie Tremain, who made his own costume in the craft room. We took a trip to Millian Fashion Week, which got staff and clients strutting their stuff down the aisels. Then we did a 'Pasta Making Dance Class' which got everyone up dancing and throwing imaginative flour. It was then time for lunch. We enjoyed some lasagna and salad and finished with a chocolate mousse for dessert. The day was capped off with an Italian Disco, which even got some of our directors up dancing, showing off their best moves.
It was a great day of fun and celebration, that left us all feeling very grateful for our wonderful centre.
