"In 2008, a motorcycle accident left Hudson a quadriplegic and in a wheelchair, and while drone photography allows him to share his love of the ocean with the world, he missed the experience of being in the waves.
From Sky to Sea, chronicles Hudson’s journey of getting back into the ocean and becoming the world’s first underwater cinematographer with quadriplegia.
“For me it’s just the sheer beauty of the ocean, it’s such a powerful, healing place,” Hudson said.
The documentary exposes the difficulties and dangers of getting Hudson into the ocean but also how he navigates everyday life with his wife Jess.
“We need to see more people with disability on screen and you see, in the film, us putting him in cars or boats in his daily life,” De Barros said.
