More about International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is held throughout the world on 8 March to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is a day to highlight the great progress we have made towards gender equality. It is also a day to recognise what still needs to be done and to create awareness about how we can play our part in making change for better. 2020 marks a hundred years since legislation was passed to enable women to run for Parliament in Western Australia, yet women are still underrepresented.
