1. Violence against women
According the
World Health Organisation about 1 in 3 women worldwide haven been subjected to either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime.
2. Women are still paid less than men
Whilst there has been a slight improvement in the gender pay gap, Australia's gender pay gap is 22.8%. Women, on average earn, $26,596 less than men each year.
3. Women are underrepresented in Leadership roles
According to
Gender Equality Scorecard, in Australia:
- 22.3% of CEOS are women
- Only 20% of boards have gender balance.
- 22.3% of boards are ALL men
