Elizabeth Vroemen has been receiving services from Rise for the past three years via her Home Care Package.

Elizabeth is a 92 year old Dutch lady who is an avid knitter and crocheter. She loves making blankets and clothes for premature babies which she donates to King Edward Memorial Hospital and she also makes fish and chip jumpers for babies in Africa.

Elizabeth previously attended the Friday Day Centre and the knitting group at Peter Anderton.  Elizabeth is originally from The Netherlands and lived for many years in New Zealand.  She moved to Perth in 2010 and lives in a granny flat at the back of her daughter's home in Gooseberry Hill.

Elizabeth also has donated beautiful knitted and crocheted blankets and rugs to Kira House.

We would like to thank Elizabeth for her tireless donations to so many charities.  Her knitting is a labour of love.

If anyone has any spare wool that they would like to donate to Elizabeth so that she can keep knitting, please call or email Coordinator Karen Dyer to arrange a drop off or pick up of donated wool.  She would appreciate unused full balls of wool.
