Some of you may recall my shout out earlier this year for donations towards a Marathon walk I was participating in to raise money for Up All Night - a Ronald McDonald Housing Charity that raises money to help support families of sick children.
The aim was to raise as much money as possible - then walk 42km over night to helps support the families.
Well - it finally happened. After it being delayed in March due to Covid, the event was held on Saturday night.
Many thanks to everyone that donated to the cause.
I raised $1072 and my team together raised just over $12,000.
We commenced our walk at 7.15 pm on Saturday night and completed the walk in 9 hours and 11 minutes. We saw the sun go down and the sun come up.
Only thing was - who ever marked the course couldn't count and we ended up walking 44km on the night. And boy did we feel those extra 2 kilometers.
A few stiff and sore muscles today but a great sense of achievement for a marathon completed for a very good cause.
Many thanks for all your support.
