The National Aborigines Day Observance Committee NAIDOC as originally known, annually holds a weeklong celebration across Australia. This is to acknowledge and honour the history, culture, and achievements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This years' celebration will be held from 4 to 11 July 2021 and the theme is Heal Country, heal our nation! This theme recognises the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s deep connection to the land and calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect, and maintain all aspects of their culture and heritage.
