Relay for Life Team, Friends of Lauryn Louise, attended their 14th Relay this weekend at Claremont Showgrounds. The team walks in memory of Lauryn Louise, daughter of team captain Mike Feltham, who passed away aged 6 from neuroblastoma.
The team has continued to raise awareness of childhood cancers through attendance at the walk each year and participating in fundraising activities, having raised in excess of $130,000 in this time.
Aged Care Scheduler Georgia and Aged Care Manager Belinda, turned on the pink, to again participate in this worthy cause and take turns with other team members to keep the baton going for a 24hr period.
Next year will celebrate the teams 15th anniversary and also commemorate Lauryn's 21st birthday.
The Relay for Life event will also celebrate its 20th anniversary and is aiming to also reach a milestone of contributing $10 million dollars to cancer research since the events commencement.
We are all anticipating an eventful and emotional year as we commence planning for next year’s Relay.
