January 26th provides an opportunity to acknowledge and learn more about Australia’s past which began over 60,000 years ago. It’s a time to come together, to share stories and to find out more about the history, traditions, and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. It’s also a chance to embrace our rich migrant heritage, which has helped shape our national identity.
The day means different things to different people and we encourage everyone to acknowledge it in a way that’s respectful and meaningful to them.
