Tickled Pink: Farrah’s entering the As We Are Awards

By Rise
17 September 2021

In the lead up to the As We Are Awards on the 30th October we’re profiling some of the artists at Rise.

Farrah has been attending Rise Arts Hub for over 9 years. She attends the Art Room on a Monday and the Craft Room on a Thursday. She loves doing craft and is a master at long stitch. Since coming to the Arts Hub she has developed many new craft skills including learning to use the sewing machine and overlocker to sew many garments. She has made her new baby niece a beautiful handmade quilt and has done many embroidery projects. She is a lover of all things pink and often comes dressed head to toe in all her favourite shades of this colour.

Last year she entered the As We Are Exhibition for the first time. This photo captures her on opening night. She was ecstatic, knowing that her embroidery piece had sold. This year she is submitting another framed textile artwork, A Farm House with Cows. This was her idea, she said, “she loves farm animals, especially cows!” She is very excited to be a part of this fantastic exhibition once again.

Rise is proud to be a major partner of the awards

We believe in the importance of providing opportunities for people of all abilities to both create and celebrate their creations with the world.

Entries for the As We Are Exhibition close on the 8th October. The Exhibition then opens on the 30th October and runs for two weeks at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre – Level 2 Main Foyer, 21 Mounts Bay Road, Perth. Be sure to get along and look at all the fantastic artwork. The Arts Hub is submitting 65 pieces of art this year.
