Upcycling With Loop

By Rise
10 August 2020

LOOP is turning some of the Water Corp jackets into large carry bags to hold the rags, tote bags and teddy bears being created from Water Corp's dis-used uniforms, avoiding all use of plastic in the upcycling process.  LOOP reached out to Rise to see if we had a volunteers we could refer for some short term paid work. Chris, one of our amazing volunteers from the Arts Hub and Darlene from RUAH, worked together and came up with the carry bag design and are on to the sewing now.  Over the next couple of weeks they will be creating 300 new upcycled items for Water Corp to re-purpose, including the Water Corp teddies.  Thanks to these amazing ladies for helping the LOOP journey to eliminate textile waste and create socially impactful jobs through upcycling.  We look forward to seeing the final results of all of your hard work.
