Celebrating International Women's Day

8 March 2022

International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is also a day to recognise what still needs to be done and to create awareness about how we can play our part in making change for the better.

One of Rise's strengths is promoting women into positions of leadership. We also support further professional development through courses such as  Leadership WA , and you can read more about Rise Director Suzanna Robertson's experience as a participant here.

Chrissie Terpos won the Stephen Delower Memorial 3-D Award for her masterpiece titled "Bruce" at last year's As We Are Exhibition at the Perth Convention Centre. Chrissie attends Rise's Arts Hub every Tuesday and Thursday. After spending many years at the centre knitting, she thought she would give pottery a go. Since then, she has made many amazing ceramic creations.
