We’re thrilled to announce that our CEO, Justine Colyer, is hitting the road on two wheels to tackle the 2023 Pipeline Challenge! She’s gearing up for this epic cycling adventure to raise much-needed funds for Youth Futures Nest Program, an organisation close to our hearts.
Having worked with Youth Futures in the past, we know firsthand their incredible dedication to providing essential support to young families in need. Their complementary services are simply invaluable to the people we support here at Rise.
Joining Justine are Dawn McAleenan, Rebecca Fitzpatrick, and Bridget Harvey. Together, they'll pedal their way from Kalgoorlie to Perth and camp under the stars each night, all to support Youth Futures' Nest Project. This unique initiative provides housing, support, and essential items to young families escaping homelessness or domestic violence.
Last year, Youth Futures had to turn away a staggering 1,500 requests for accommodation due to lack of funding. The Pipeline Challenge Ride aims to fill that gap, especially as concerns grow that the situation may worsen in the current climate.
The aptly named ‘Optimistic Amateurs’ are covering all their costs for the ride, ensuring that every donation goes directly to those who need support the most. The funds raised will provide practical assistance, such as baby equipment, support for parents to re-enter the workforce, and advice on budgeting and nutrition.
Despite not being experienced cyclists Justine and the team are dedicated to pushing themselves to the limit for every dollar donated. They'd greatly appreciate your support for their amateur efforts in this challenging endeavour.
